From chocolate box cottages and rolling hills to sleepy, honey-hued villages, the Cotswolds embodies quintessential rural England.

About the area

One of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds is something of a pastoral paradise in central South West England. Our collection of Cotswold stone cottages is at the heart of it, in Bibury – one of the most renowned villages of the area. We’re just a stone’s throw from picture-perfect Arlington Row, a run of 17th-century weaver’s houses and the area’s most notable attraction.

Food and drink

Open hearths, the smell of cinders, and swinging, creaking signs out front, Cotswold country pubs are what you dreamed they’d be. Savour hearty, local fare and artisan ales at the more traditional inns, and modern takes on classic dishes at local restaurants and gastropubs. If it’s a cream tea you’re after, stop off at one of the many quaint tea rooms and indulge.

Walks

Whether it’s a gentle amble you crave or a more invigorating hike, you’re spoilt for choice with countless scenic walking trails. Wend your way along bucolic bridleways, stopping for lunch at one of the many ancient country pubs. Take in spectacular vistas: a chequerboard of fields punctuated by church spires or babbling streams bordering wildflower meadows.

Attractions

From the bustling market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Cirencester to the tranquil beauty of Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water, every corner of the Cotswolds has timeless allure. Quaint laneways beckon, inviting visitors to meander lazily, pausing in bookshops, boutiques or bakeries. History buffs will delight in the region's rich heritage. From ancient Roman ruins to stately homes and enchanting gardens, there’s much to be uncovered.
